Life at Hostel: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Hostel life has a charm of its own. It is almost a parallel culture, an experience that takes you out of your comfort zone and exposes you to several experiences. Living by some stringent rules is one of them. Getting to know a host of students from diverse backgrounds at very close quarters, is another. At DIT University, the idea is to make one as comfortable as possible in this parallel culture.Apart from the infrastructural soundness, all the hostels provide sufficient scope for interaction and relationship-building. There are common rooms, games rooms and courts for various sports in all hostels, where the students can relax and cool down after a hectic day of work. There is freedom of movement and students constantly interact with one another. This gives the new students full scope to know their seniors, learn from them, leverage their knowledge and build lasting relations with them. It is also a common sight to find study groups and project groups working away into the night in the hostel common rooms.

There are 4 boy’s Hostels, which accommodate 1500 students in single, two and three bedded. A gym facility is also attached within the hostel.
They are:-

The University has four on-campus boys' hostel blocks (namely Bose, Bhabha, Raman and Sarabhai) with a capacity of over 850
students and one girls' hostel block (Sarojini) with a capacity of over 600 students.

There are a plethora of activities that go around in the hostel which makes life fun. Lot of intra hostel events and competitions (amongst your hostel inmates) or practice for inter hostel (with other hostels) competitions in Sports and Cultural activities take place all year round. Also, a variety of festivals like Lohri, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Jansmashtami, Dusshera, Diwali etc. are celebrated in the hostels along with flag hoisting on Republic Day and Independence Day, keeping the atmosphere in the hostels vibrant and full of life all year round. Do participate in whatever interests you, of course after having devoted enough time to academics. It helps in breaking the ice and socializing with your batch mates and seniors
